Raise your ass... And go the last 500 meters!!! - We went to Uuru peak and we reached the roof of africa, thanks to Douglas. I was in Moshi with a friend, and another guy joined our group and He... read more became a friend as well.
The Trip was challenging as it was my first hike in such an altitude. He managed it very well. The first day we were soaked, due to terrible rainfalls. But the next day our suites were dry.
The second day I was not humgry, that's untypical. Douglas had a local tea, that made me eating a lot.
Finally on the peak, 500 m from the sign, i said: I will have a break here. I wait for you, when you Return
He was upset. I bring everyone to the sign. U as well! Raise your a And I was on the sign. Thanks to be both so kind and strict :-)
For a second try, I would join Douglas again
Outstanding service, experience, and outcomes! - I've had the pleasure of climbing Kilimanjaro 2 times. Both times with Douglas , and when I go again .I will use Douglas.
The 1st trip my wife... read more experienced a medical emergency above 16,500'. Douglas immediately recognized what was happening and safely got the 2 of us off the mountain. The rest of the team (4) successfully summitted the next day. Because of the quick and expert care of Douglas, my wife fully recovered. I was thrilled with his caring response.
2 years later, I returned to attempt the summit again. This time with a cousin and a good friend. Because of my previous experience with Douglas, there was nobody else I wanted to lead us.
Douglas, and his hand picked team, gave us a GREAT experience. We all successfully made the summit. This was fantastic, but what was most impressive to me, was how Douglas even watched out and cared for OTHER climbers who were using other guides who were not taking care of their people properly. He did so in such a beautiful way WITHOUT compromising our trip in the slightest.
Douglas is a LONGTIME professional who is EXCELLENT at his job. If you're in his care .you're going to be safe, well cared for, and have the best chance of successfully making the summit.
Asante sana! Thank you, Douglas!
